VE Day Celebration Evening
August 22 @ 7:30 pm
This year is the 75th anniversary of VE Day and, as we villagers of Cottingham and Middleton enjoy a party, John and Paula Orton are arranging one to raise funds for The Mill project.
This is a ticket only, 1940s themed street party celebration with live music from the Harborough Big Band, food from the Naffi, flag waving and a few newspaper hats, mixed in with a bit of ‘Allo ‘Allo and Dad’s Army fancy dress, for those who want to join in.
As a tight knit community, we hope this event will create a “Your Village Needs You” camaraderie as we generate funds for The Mill and, most of all, enjoy ourselves!
The event is taking place in the Churchill Suite at Corby Conservative Club, from 7.30pm to midnight. Tickets are £22.50 (including buffet), and a bus is being organised to take folks to and from the villages for a small extra cost. To reserve your place, please contact Paula on 01536 771223, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please also contact Paula if you can organise raffle prizes; loan old tablecloths, photographs we can copy or glass vases for table decorations; or if you have ideas or a skill you think will help make this a memorable evening.
